In a class I once had, we had to create a poem (instead of write) because we constructed it out of lines from other poems. This is what inspired my - what I am going to call because of time and thought - project.
When I was younger, I loved writing poetry (you can see my much older ones here). But I've had writers block for the past...I want to say four years. I've tried a few times, but always ended up scribbling out my writing and throwing away the paper.
Music has always meant a lot to me (as I'm sure most people can relate to). After some long drives back and forth to work, interesting occurrences in my life, and just more time to listen to my music - I noticed just how much the lyrics of songs said what I couldn't (again, as I'm sure most people can relate to).
Since song lyrics are essentially poems, I decided to take the concept of my class and "construct" a poem based on these words that seemed to say exactly what I've been thinking.
