Pre-Writer's Block Poems (Very Old!)

Love is just some chemicals
Racing through our veins
Racing in our bodies
Making us insane

It's just a mix of matter
A complex work of art
A tiny little pointless word
Messing up our hearts

It has no true meaning
Not a single thing inside
Not one easy simple cause
We just enjoy the ride

Loves just a bunch of chemicals
That leave us craving more
But honey, let me tell you
I've felt those chemicals before

Run away with me, darling
We'll head out to sea
We'll sail across the ocean
We'll keep ourselves free

Nothing can stop us
Not the waves, not the rain
We'll travel along together
And forget about the pain

It won't be too easy
Just letting go,
But we have each other
That's what I know

Make a choice now, darling
There's no time to regret
We will be at peace
And the world we'll forget

All I wanna do is stay like this forever
Never leave you, never let you go

You and I could rule the world together
Always feeling up, not for a second low

Sit down next to me honey
Hold my hand if you dare

I'll be there through your dark and sunny
'Cause we all know life isn't fair

I promise you the sun, the stars, and the moons
I promise you a kiss

I'll try to fix your broken wounds
I'll grant your every wish

The world sends her a smile
But she returns it with a frown
Not a thing can make her happy
Her walls are falling down

They're crashing and they're burning
Being swallowed by a fire
Something deep within her
That holds a great desire

She wants to be freed
Let out of this place
She wants to really live
And know her life is not a waste

But something has her trapped here
It's tugging at her past
She's learned that playing by the rules
Will put you in dead last

She's not one for change though
It scares her to the core
Yet she faces her darkest fears
And walks through that open door

A new world shall await her
A world that she shall love
A world where things make a little more sense
A place to rise above

I've learned not to let my walls down
Not as easily as before
It will leave you broken
Like glass hitting the floor

I've learned to remember differences
Between friendship and love

I've learned that life isn't easy
Not simple at all
They'll watch you like crazy
Hoping you'll fall

I've learned to remember my mistakes
A warning for the future

But I've learned you have to take chances
Put everything at risk
Think about what life has for us
That you wouldn't want to miss

I've learned to remember family
They'll always be there

I've learned that life isn't easy
No, not one bit
But I've learned you have to learn
Because life is worth it

My mind is an endless rope
You could pull and pull
Like a magician's wonder
But it shall never stop

A mix of thoughts
The further you go
The knottier it gets
What a confusion it is

Could you unravel my soul?
Would you untie my knots?
With one look into my eyes,
Will you figure me out?

What are you supposed to do
When your good, isn't good enough?
Your strength, isn't strong enough?

What are you supposed to do
When you've done all you could?
Said all you had to say?

Do you let it continue?
Do you try to try harder?
Is there even an answer?

There must be, there always is
But is it worth trying to find?
Or do you let go
And leave things as they are
Perhaps, as they are supposed to be

All she ever wanted
Was what the storybooks told her.
Her prince, her palace, her people.
They'd all come with time.

A twirl around the ballroom
To be swept off her feet.
True love's first kiss
To take her breath away.

But no one ever told her
The struggles it takes to get there.
That things have to go wrong
If she ever wants them to go right.

Because fairytales don't just happen,
She found this to be true.
They're flawed and fake and never real
No matter what you do

Reality is so much different
Because it can't be known
But through thick and thin
She came to figure things out on her own

Her people aren't perfect,
But do more than she could ask.
Her palace isn't marvelous,
But it's what she can call home.

And her prince didn't rescue her
He completed no difficult task
But he loved her for who she was
And to her, that was good enough

It was better than a happy ever after.
